At Global Yacht Racing we believe that yacht racing is for everyone, not just the super rich! We enter our yachts into well established race events and regattas around the world, in the UK, Med, Caribbean and Australia. We take individuals and groups of like minded people, people like you and we forge a winning team through professional race training. Then we go out, race hard and more often than not get on the podium!
Race Yacht Charter
Additionally we offer professionally maintained race winning performance yachts for established teams to charter around the world. We look after the logistics for you ensuring when you rock up you can race., race hard and more often than not get on the podium!
Yachtmaster Training
Our Traineeship programmes are unique Yacht Skipper Training courses. Designed to offer great sail training, race training, race management skills, hands on yacht maintenance skills and marine industry work experience all in one great package. Choose from our UK-based Fasttrack Summer programme, our 6 month Caribbean-based course or our 10 month programme that also includes a transatlantic crossing. Alternatively, we can tailor a training programme to suit your requirements based upon existing experience and qualifications.
Our History
Global Yacht Racing Ltd has been offering sailing and racing on great yachts around the world since 2004. Andy Middleton (Founder of of Global Yacht Racing and Director at Performance yacht racing is an RYA Yachtmaster Instructor Trainer and Ocean Examiner who has a passion for racing and training. He set up UK based business Global Yacht Racing in 2004 with partner Claire Kennard. He is exceptionally good at training individuals to race together and creates effective teams from crew who may never have raced before. He believes that yacht racing should be safe, fun and non elitist and Global Yacht Racing was set up to offer worldwide yacht racing to all. Since 2004 Global Yacht Racing became the leading provider of race events for individuals around the world and has entered teams in the Rolex Sydney Hobart since 2004 as well as the Rolex Middle Sea Race, Rolex Fastnet race, ARC Transatlantic and all major Caribbean Regattas with numerous podium results.

A motivational and inspirational leader capable of coaching sailors and crew members to fulfil their potential in preparation for highly challenging sailing.

After completing his 10 Month Yachtmaster training programme Alex went on to be part of the successful team ‘Liquid’ in the Caribbean 2019 race season. This season, back in the UK, he has successfully skippered our J120 in a number of events most notably the Fastnet Race. He is now looking to complete his third ARC.
