The Round the Island Race 2020 starts and finishes in Cowes on the Isle of Wight in England. Travel to the Isle of Wight is easy on a twenty minute ferry from Southampton which is easily accessible from most areas of the country by road and rail. There is also an international airport at Southampton.
Like most yacht racing events that we participate in, we include yacht race training to bring the crew together and to get the most out of the day.
The Race is unique in its sheer scale; on race day there are literally hundreds of yachts out there ranging from the smallest laser to sleek maxi racers. It is a spectacle of impressive proportions and even in light winds can never be boring because there is so much expensive floating tupperware to gawp at! For tactical yacht racing and non stop action for the whole duration of the race, this regatta cannot be beaten. Prior sailing experience is not necessary because our experienced and patient professional skipper will coach you and ensure that everyone is confident enough to make a valuable contribution to the crew.
