The RORC Caribbean 600 race starts and finishes in Antigua in the amazing eastern Caribbean. Travel to Antigua is easy by air from most major international airports and travel to and from Antigua Yacht club is cheap and easy by taxi. Training takes place in the azure waters outside of the historic English harbour dockyard in warm weather and perfect sailing conditions. Both before and after the race you will enjoy the hospitality and party atmosphere of Antigua with like minded sailors all here for this amazing race.
The RORC Caribbean 600 Race campaign 2020 will run over eight days. You will get great race training in the three day build up to the Caribbean 600 race. The race itself should take between three to five days depending on the weather.
When we first heard about this event in 2008 we thought that the combination of fantastic racing conditions with warm seas and steady trade winds sounded most unappealing. After all we’d rather be soaking, cold and freezing wet in the English Channel for sure. No not really! We jumped at the chance of some fabulous sailing in sunshine so grabbed our shorts and t-shirts and made sure we were on the Caribbean 600 race entry list.
Racing on turquoise seas in brilliant sunshine against a keen fleet and stiff competition, with interesting navigation and tactics thrown in, this race really is perfect! We don’t think we need to really sell it to you any more! If you are feeling a bit low on Vitamin Sea in February make sure to join our crew for the best sailing fun in the sun! Plus some rum and reggae thrown in for good measure!
No previous racing experience is needed! Because expert race training is part of the RORC Caribbean 600 race campaign from our own Global Yacht Racing skippers.
